Hey, I'm Amelie
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Paris, France.
Several years ago I moved here with my family, and what began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complicated than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Woven Harbor Crest
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in France.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is NOT:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
